Prevention and detection of Breast Cancer – Let's starts now! - Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy

About This Event

Incidence of Breast Cancer is alarmingly increasing! It is the most common cancer in women in India and affecting one in every 8 women.

In view of International Breast Cancer Awareness month October – 2022, an Awareness Programme targeting young women was organized to increase awareness on prevention and early detection of Breast Cancer. There is shift in the age group too—from 50 years and above to 30 years and above.

Breast cancer accounts for nearly 30% of all cancers in women in India, with early detection and screening being critical. Pandemic-related hesitancy has led to late diagnoses with more advanced disease. Women are advised to be watchful of any signs like lumps, discharge, or discoloration and undergo regular screening and self-breast examinations.
